Reports Overview

XBR Ingenium contains several essential reports, pre-configured to provide essential business intelligence information. Business analysts can use these out of the box, or create new reports as needed.

A report is an object that represents a request for a specific set of formatted data from the data source. In its most basic form it consists of two parts:

To create a report that accurately answers a specific business query, be sure to understand the fundamental objects that make up a report.

A simple report generally has at least one attribute, one metric, and one filter. It is not necessary to have all these objects in the report, but the data returned is more meaningful if all these objects are present.

A report can be created containing one or two common objects, and saved as a template. Then you can build reports based on the template and simply add individual objects required by each report.

Reports can be viewed in a grid format, a graph, or in one screen containing both a grid and a graph of the data.

To access report objects while viewing any report, from the Tools menu, click   to open the Report Objects list in the left pane.
