Using a title bar in a panel stack

For each panel stack you can choose whether to show the title bar, which displays either the title of the panel stack or the name of the current panel to help identify what the user is looking at. By default, the name of the panel currently displayed on the panel stack is shown in the title bar. When a user switches panels, the name in the title bar changes.

You can choose to display the same title regardless of which panel is displayed. To do this, display the panel stack title instead of the panel name, and then specify the title for the panel stack.

Note: The minimize and maximize icons that normally appear on a title bar in a document are not displayed in the title bars for panel stacks. This means that you cannot minimize or maximize the display of a panel stack or panels using the title bar.

For a filter panel, the title bar allows a user to clear all filters, and expand or collapse all the filters. If you remove the title bar from a filter panel, a user cannot make those changes.

You can also determine the size of a title bar, and you can hide a title bar. Steps are below.

Note: These instructions apply to panel stacks and to filter panels, which are a type of panel stack that contains only selectors.

To display a title bar in a panel stack

Open the document in Design or Editable Mode.
Right-click the panel stack to modify and select Properties and Formatting. The Properties and Formatting dialog box is displayed.
From the left, select General.
Select the Show Title Bar check box.
By default, the name of the current panel is displayed in the title bar. Therefore, Current Panel Name is selected in the Title drop-down list. To display the title of the panel stack instead, from the Title drop-down list select Custom Title. Then type the text in the Custom Title field.
Click OK to apply the changes. The title bar is displayed above your panel stack.

To specify the height of a title bar in a panel stack

Open the document in Design or Editable Mode.
Right-click the panel stack to modify and select Properties and Formatting. The Properties and Formatting dialog box is displayed.
From the left, select Layout.
Specify the height of the title bar in the Fixed at field in the Title height area.
Click OK to apply the changes.

To remove a title bar from a panel stack

For a filter panel, the title bar allows a user to clear all filters, and expand or collapse all the filters. If you remove the title bar from a filter panel, a user cannot make those changes.

Open the document in Design or Editable Mode.
Right-click the panel stack to modify and select Properties and Formatting. The Properties and Formatting dialog box is displayed.
From the left, select General.
Clear the Show Title Bar check box.
Click OK to apply the changes. The title bar is removed from the panel stack.
