About Prompted Reports

Any report can contain prompts. Depending on the answers the user provides, the report brings back and displays different data from the data source. Prompts are either required or optional. If a prompted is required, the report will not run unless the prompt is answered. Required prompts are indicated with the word Required enclosed in brackets and colored red (Required). Even if a prompt answer is not required, you might want to answer it to limit the data returned. For example, If you only want to see results for a few stores, and the report has a Store Hierarchy Qualification prompt that is not required, select a list of only those stores in the prompt to avoid getting results for all stores.

How a prompt is answered differs depending on the type of prompt presented.
