Time Attribute dialog box

You can improve the depth of time-related information available for your data by having the application automatically generate attributes containing higher levels of time data based on an existing attribute in a dashboard. For example, if the attribute contains month data, you can automatically generate the Year attribute, which contains the year of each month.

You base the derived attribute on an attribute with a data type of Date, Time, or DateTime. The attribute must also contain a date attribute form.

To create attributes with additional time information in a dashboard:

  1. Click the name of the dashboard to run it.

  2. In the Datasets panel, right-click the attribute to base additional time attributes on, then point to Create Time Attributes. The Time Attribute dialog box opens. Note: If the Datasets panel is not displayed, from the View menu, select Datasets Panel.

  3. Select the check box next to each attribute you want to have automatically generated.

  4. Click OK to apply your changes.
