Working with Project Basics

The Project Basics page provides an overview of all general project information. You can view and edit this page only if you have the appropriate permissions.

Basic project information
Classification

Projects may be classified in a variety of ways, including Functional Area, Project Source and Process. These fields are set up during configuration and can vary by installation.

Organizational unit

Indicates the organizational unit within which this project is situated. This can be edited. If a specific hierarchy is being enforced within your system the page will refresh to update the values displayed in the pull-down menu to make sure that you do not violate the dependencies between the various units.

Confidentiality settings

Indicates whether the project is visible to all users of the system, or only to members of the project (i.e. confidential). If it is set to be confidential, it can be made available to members of specific organizational units and/or users with particular titles.

Statements and notes

Displays the detailed notes, carried over from the project proposal (if any), that help with reporting and evaluation. Some of the fields displayed may be dependent on the initiative selected for this project. All these fields can be edited.

Financial information

Displays the financials entered at the proposal level. If a project is created with single-view, the budge finances are editable. If the project is created with double-view, the budget finances will not be editable from the Basics page, even if proposal finances are not enabled.

Dates

Displays the dates associated with the project. You should be able to see the date on which the project was started and the planned realization date (the date by which you expect to complete all the phases of a project). The Project Manager Transfer Date is populated if the project manager was changed.

Alignment

Displays the alignments, path and % contribution.

Keywords

Keywords for this project can be defined in this section and can be used for filtering by keywords.

Custom fields

If there are project custom fields defined in your system, these will be displayed in the custom fields section.
