The following topics introduce the new and changed features of Oracle Business Activity Monitoring (Oracle BAM) and other significant changes that are described in this guide, and provide pointers to additional information.
This document is the new edition of the formerly titled User's Guide for Oracle Business Activity Monitoring. Information relevant to Oracle BAM that was in the Developing SOA Applications with Oracle SOA Suite and Administering Oracle SOA Suite and Oracle Business Process Management Suite has been moved into this document.
Oracle Business Activity Monitoring 12c (12.2.1) includes the following new and changed features for this document.
New, enhanced features for Business Views based on Data Visualization Tools. See Business Friendly Graphs and Charts for more information.
The ability to create Pre-defined SQL Queries. See Creating a Pre-defined SQL Query for more information.
As an administrator, you can define parameters within calculated fields at the Data Object level. See Adding Calculated Fields for more information.
You can now use parameters in Calculated Fields. See The Calculated Fields Tab.
You can now schedule automatic data purges for a data object using Oracle Fusion Middleware Enterprise Manager. See Scheduling Automatic Data Purges for a Data Object for more information.
In list views, you can export data to a CSV file and control how many rows of data can be exported. See Exporting Data from a Data Object and Modifying Data Tab Preferences for more information.
Some alerts now support calculated fields. See When a Data Field in a Data Object Meets Specified Conditions for more information.
External Data Objects previously used to support only fact data objects. Now, you can use External Dimension Data Object as well. See Creating an External Data Object for more information.
You can now choose to use either an Inner Join or Left Outer Join in Logical Data Objects. See Creating a Logical Data Object for more information.
You can use pre-defined SQL to create queries. See Creating a Pre-defined SQL Query for more information.
You must update the adapter deployment if you change Oracle BAM adapter properties. See Updating the Oracle BAM Adapter Deployment for more information.
Some Enterprise Messaging Service features have been enhanced. They are as follows.
A system generated data object called EmsStatus that monitors the status of the EMS is automatically created when the server is started.
The server name is now part of EMS Metrics.
A new Data Object called EmsHistory has been added for JCA Alerts. See Configuring the JCA Alerts Mechanism in EMS for more information.
You can use a Persistence Payload if the EMS payload does not contain the data-object field mapping information. See Creating an Enterprise Message Sources: Steps for more information.
