Resizing Elements of Siebel Composer

As a layout editor, the Siebel Composer UI can be used to resize the existing elements. Both Container and Content Item elements can be resized. A snap-to-grid model is followed during resize, which means that the resizing happens to predetermined breakpoints on the UI. This approach is beneficial because it enables users to vertically align elements on different rows to the same size. During the resizing, a background ruler is visible to serve as a visual cue to the possible breakpoint zones and to determine the final resulting size of the element.

To resize elements of Siebel Composer

  1. Hover around the Siebel application screen to determine the element or group of elements to be resized.
  2. The Hover Context represents what is being resized.

Use this visual cue to determine the correct elements to be affected. Valid resizable elements show a resize indicator.

  3. Once the element is determined, position the mouse cursor over the resize indicator and start dragging horizontally.

A background ruler appears to indicate the potential resize breakpoints.

The Siebel UI dynamically resizes the element and represents how the UI will eventually look.

  4. Drop the cursor when the expected resizing is complete.

The Siebel Composer application records the change.

  5. In the Execution Bar, verify that the change was recorded by noting an increment in the Pending Commit Counter.

This example illustrates a resize action-in-progress of the grid container in the Account List applet. Inside the applet, the container hosts the grid itself. While previously occupying 100% of the applet's width, it is now resized to occupy about 60% of the width.
