TRANSFORMATION AND GROWTH WITH JD EDWARDS

When we see a target at Spray Equipment and Service Center, Inc. (SESC), we excel at achieving it. Implementing JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 8.12 in 2009 helped us establish accurate measurements for what drives our business. We think of it as a “sponge” that absorbs vital real-time business data as business events occur.

A year later, SESC implemented BI Analytics with direct links to the company’s JD Edwards tables. With the business-focused user interface, our company’s president and owner creates his own reports and schedules the delivery of information to any employee, customer, or vendor. BI Analytics is the tool that SESC uses to squeeze timely business insight out of our JD Edwards “sponge”.

Since upgrading to EnterpriseOne 9.1.4 in January 2015, SESC has been working on citizen developer features, such as Café One. Currently, we use a BI exception report (insight) on a Café One layout for open sales orders. With one point and click, the purchasing end user is redirected to a new JD Edwards window for the related purchase order (action). With “Insight-To-Action” (ITA), we deliver timely information to the right person and put them in the right place to take action.

The above combination of technology has driven business growth by enabling SESC to increase value for our customers while controlling working capital requirements and overhead. Since implementing JD Edwards and BI Analytics seven years ago, SESC has seen profitably grow from $19M to $40M.
