Removing a dictionary schema

Removing a dictionary removes the dictionary schema and all data. When you remove a dictionary schema, all synonym lists, coding definitions, assignment rules, and requests entered against the dictionary are lost and cannot be retrieved.

Caution: Oracle recommends that you do not remove the dictionary schema or delete a dictionary that has been used for coding. Delete only dictionaries that you have set up but have not coded against.

Select Start > Program Files > Phase Forward > Central Coding > Dictionary Loader.
The Dictionary Loader dialog box appears.
Select a connection and connect to the database.

Make sure that you have inactivated the dictionary whose dictionary schema you want to remove.

Select the Dictionaries node for the active connection.
Select a dictionary to remove.
Select Dictionary > Remove.
A confirmation dialog box appears.
Click Yes.
If prompted, enter the user name and password for the dictionary schema administrator, and click OK.
The dictionary remains in the list of Dictionaries. The dictionary status changes to REMOVED.
