Risk Library Overview
The Risk Library provides a central location for managing reusable risks at the workspace level. Instead of creating the same risks in multiple projects, maintain a library of risks that you can share and link across projects in a workspace hierarchy.
Adding Risks to the Risk Library
Create risks directly in the workspace Risk Library, or promote existing project risks. In a child workspace, you can assign existing parent workspace library risks that use the Manual sharing method.
Including Library Risks in a Project Risk Register
Library risks added to a project risk register remain linked to the risk library but can be edited independently within the project. Library risks can be added multiple times to a single project. Only library risks with a status of Open are available to include in a project risk register. The Risk Library is not available for program risk registers.
Linking Project Risks in the Risk Library
If similar risks exist in multiple projects, use the Linked Project Risks tab in the detail window to link the project risks to the library risk. Linking risks helps you see patterns, compare risk data across projects, and investigate unusual risk values or trends. The Linked Project Risks Count column displays the number of project risks currently linked to the library risk, and the Linked Projects column displays the list of Project IDs the library risk is linked to.
Workspace Hierarchy Behavior
After you create a risk in the owning workspace library, it cannot be deleted. To prevent a library risk from being added to projects, change its status to Rejected. Library risks with an Automatic sharing method are automatically pushed to child workspaces. Library risks with a Manual sharing method can be assigned in the child workspace Risk Library. When a library risk is shared to a child workspace, either automatically or manually, you can remove that risk from the child workspace library.
