About the V2 and V3 Catalogs for Reports and Dashboards

Starting with Release 35, reports and dashboards are organized in two catalogs, as follows:

  • V2 catalog. This catalog contains the following:
    • Custom reports that your company creates in Oracle CRM On Demand Answers. These reports are stored in the personal folders and Company Wide Shared Folder under Shared Folders in Oracle CRM On Demand Answers.
    • Dashboards that your company creates from the Dashboard tab.
    • Prebuilt V2 reports. These reports are stored under Shared Folders in Oracle CRM On Demand Answers
  • V3 catalog. This catalog contains the following:
    • Custom reports and dashboards that your company creates from the Analytics tab. These reports and dashboards are stored in the personal folders and Company Wide Shared Folder under Shared Folders in the Catalog subtab under the Analytics tab.
    • Prebuilt V3 reports. These reports are stored under Shared Folders in the Catalog subtab under the Analytics tab.
    • Migrated V3 reports. After your company upgrades to Oracle CRM On Demand Release 35, some of the custom reports that your company originally created in Oracle CRM On Demand Answers might be migrated to the V3 catalog, as well as continuing to be available in the V2 catalog. The migrated reports are stored in the Migrated Company Wide Shared Folder under Shared Folders in the Catalog subtab of the Analytics tab. To access the reports in the Migrated Company Wide Shared Folder, your user role must include the Access Migrated Company Wide Shared Folder privilege.

NOTE: Depending on how your company instance is set up, your company might not have access to the Analytics tab or the V3 catalog.

Oracle CRM On Demand can generate the HTML that you need to embed the following types of reports and dashboards in widgets:

  • Reports from the V2 catalog.

If you want to embed a report from the V2 catalog, then you must know the path string for the report, so that you can paste it into the Path field for the reports widget. The following is an example of a report path string:

Shared Folders : Pre-built Analysis : Quick List Reports : Accounts by Sales Rep

Instructions for determining the path string for a report from the V2 catalog are provided later in this topic.

  • Reports and dashboards from the V3 catalog.

You can use the Lookup icon in the Reports Widget section of the Embed Oracle CRM On Demand Content page to navigate to a report or dashboard in the V3 catalog.
