This section describes how to modify, correct, and enrich data sets.

Overview of transforming an attribute
All transforms follow the same basic workflow.
Transform page controls
There are a number of general controls on the Transform page to toggle the data grid, filter and sort, and display whitespace in attribute values.
Basic transform operations
Simple transforms such as splitting attributes, trimming attributes, or changing the case of attributes are listed on the Basic tab of the Transform page.
Conversion transform operations
Conversion transforms convert the data type of an attribute that you select to another data type. They are listed on the Convert tab of the Transform page.
Advanced transform operations
More advanced transforms such as creating geo heirarchy attributes, extracting entities or phrases, managing null values and so on are listed on the Advanced tab of the Transform page.
Shaping transform operations
Shaping transforms are listed on the Shaping tab of the Transform page.
Creating custom transformations
If the default transforms do not meet your needs, you can also create and add custom transformations to a transformation script on the Editor tab of the Transform page. Transformations can contain attributes and records from your project data set as variables, and can create new attributes to hold the transformed values.
