Users with appropriate permissions (e.g., project managers, finance representatives) can enter monthly project savings and costs (both hard dollar and soft dollar) at a detailed level from the start of the project. These can be entered manually or will roll up from Finances based on the AET.
To edit or enter finance data:
- Navigate to the Projects Finances page by selecting (Project #) > Go To > Finances, or clicking the Finances link on the Left Navigation bar within a particular project.
- Click the Detailed Finances tab.
- For projects using the double-view template: on the Main View from the View Type drop-down menu, select the view (Plan or Actual) you want to edit.
- Ensure that the Comparison View check box is unchecked.
- From the Snapshot or Current drop-down menu, select Current.
Note: You can edit the finance data of a snapshot only if your project uses the single-view template.
- To edit finances for a particular category for all months, select a financial category from the Edit Finances for Category pull-down menu. You will be able to enter data for each sub-category within that category, for all the months.
- To edit finances for all categories and sub-categories for a particular month, select the month from the Edit Finances for Month pull-down menu.
- To populate all appropriate fields with the same number, you can use the Copy Forward to... and the Current Year and All Months buttons on the Edit Finance for Category page.
- Click Update to save your changes.
Notes:
- Any multiplication factors that are part of your finance configuration are displayed on the Settings page.
- If you are unable to edit financial data for a particular period, please contact your administrator.
