Work Plan Overview
During the project planning process, superintendents, subcontractors, tradespeople, and other project stakeholders work together to create a work plan. It includes all of the activities and tasks required to complete the project and shows how they are related and when they should start and end.
After you open a project, you can access its Work Plan screen by tapping the Work Plan tile on the Project Home screen.
There are two Work Plan views: Calendar (tablet only) and Report.
- Calendar: In this view, tasks can optionally be organized under activity bands. To expand or collapse an activity band, tap the arrow on the left side of the band.
- Report: In this view, tasks are displayed in a printable table format. When viewing the Report view on a phone, the view is automatically rotated to landscape mode.
The timescale in the views shows: Previous Week, Current Week, and Lookahead. The current date is highlighted for reference when you view the current week. The Lookahead period is based on the Task Planning Period setting in Preferences, which can be set to display 1 to 10 weeks. Swipe left and right to view tasks and activities for the next and previous dates. Shaded dates represent non-work days, as defined by the project calendar.
If you need to see beyond a single week in a work plan, you can quickly view additional weeks using a pinch-to-zoom action. Move two fingers together to zoom out and show additional weeks in the view. Move two fingers apart to zoom in and show fewer weeks in the view. The screen adjusts to display the number of weeks as you zoom in or out on the calendar. The maximum number of weeks that you can zoom is either three or four depending on the length of the current planning period. You can use pinch-to-zoom in the Calendar view for any work plan regardless of swimlane settings.
If a task plan has been created for your project in Oracle Primavera Cloud, you can apply it from the Work Plan screen when you configure view settings. Applying a task plan arranges task cards by any combination of assigned user, company, activity code, task code, or WBS swimlanes.
Tasks marked with the Milestone icon are milestones. Unlike regular tasks, milestones have no duration, but you can complete and flag them.
To search for tasks and activities on the Work Plan screen, tap Search. When searching for tasks or an activity that is outside the date range of data on the device, the task or activity will display with a status of Not in Work Plan.
Tasks without assigned due dates will display in the hopper on the right side of the Work Plan screen, unless they have hand-offs. Drag the task card to a specific date on the planning board to assign a due date. You cannot move completed tasks or tasks with commitments to the planning board.
Which tasks you can see and what you can do with them depends on which of these permissions you've been assigned in Oracle Primavera Cloud:
- Tasks for All Companies
- Tasks for My Company
- Manage Commitments and Complete All Company's Tasks
- Manage Commitments and Complete My Company's Tasks
- Manage Commitments and Complete My Tasks
