Print General Ledger Interface Report

Purpose: Use this report to review the total amounts posted each day to each general ledger account, including the entity, division, and journal source.

How to print:

• Select Print at the Print General Ledger Interface Screen.

• Submit the GLLIST General Ledger List periodic function.

Note: This report is also available as a .csv (comma-separated value) file, which you can open in a spreadsheet application such as Microsoft Excel®. See Reports Available in CSV (Spreadsheet) Format for more information.

Contents:

Date of transaction: The date when the transaction occurred.

Entity: The code and description of the business entity where the transactions posted. See Working with Entities (WENT).

Division: A code representing a group within a business entity. You must define at least one division for each entity. You define G/L numbers for sales, returns, freight, taxes and additional charges in the Division table. See Working with Divisions (WDIV).

Journal source: The description of the transaction that caused the posting. See the Journal source field description at the Display G/L Interface Details Screen for a list of valid values.

G/L number: The G/L account number to which the transaction should post. See Working with G/L Accounts (WGLA), for more information on the G/L account number, and see General Ledger Overview for more information on how the system uses G/L numbers for posting to the G/L Interface table.

G/L number description: The description of the G/L account number, as set up through Working with G/L Accounts (WGLA).

Debit: The total amount of the debit posting for the journal source and G/L account number for the date indicated.

Credit: The total amount of the credit posting for the journal source and G/L account number for the date indicated.

Date totals: Total debit and credit amounts to post for the date indicated.

Final totals: Total debit and credit amounts to post for the date range on the report.

Out of balance: The total amount by which the General Ledger Interface table is out of balance for all journal sources for the selected range of dates.

Resolving an out-of-balance journal source: The General Ledger Interface table might be out of balance for a particular journal source because:

• the G/L numbers are set up incorrectly

• the G/L numbers are not defined

• there are incomplete transactions for the journal source
