Topic
Description

Multiple topics

Modified topics. In the current release, Siebel Gateway Name Server has been replaced by Siebel Gateway, and Siebel Web Server Extension (SWSE) has been replaced by Siebel Application Interface, which does not require a Web server. You configure all server modules using the new Siebel Management Console. (The Database Configuration Wizard is still provided, for installing the Siebel database and related operations.) Application Interface does not use the eapps.cfg file: all configuration data is now stored in the Siebel Gateway. The contents of the public folder on SWSE have moved to a different directory on Application Interface.

For more information about installation and configuration changes for this release, see Siebel Installation Guide for the operating system you are using.

Multiple topics

Siebel Repository Files (SRF) are no longer used. Siebel Business Applications now use the runtime repository provided in the database. For more information, see Using Siebel Tools.
