What's New in Siebel System Administration Guide, Siebel Innovation Pack 2017

Table 1-4 lists the changes in this revision of the documentation to support this release of the software.

Note: Siebel Innovation Pack 2017 is a continuation of the Siebel 8.1/8.2 release.

Multiple topics	Modified topics. In the current release, the Siebel Gateway Name Server has been replaced by a new module called Siebel Gateway. The Siebel Web Server Extension (SWSE) has been replaced by a new module, Siebel Application Interface.

"Starting and Shutting Down a Siebel CRM Deployment"	Modified topic. Added information about starting and stopping the application container.
"Migrating Parameters Between Environments"	Removed appendix. The cfgmerge utility is no longer supported.
"Siebel Server Component Groups" "Siebel Server Components"	Modified topics. Removed the Siebel Rest Proxy Object Manager (alias SiebelRestCompIntMgr), a component that had been added to the EAI component group for Siebel Innovation Pack 2016. Also removed the Siebel Core Reference Application component group (alias CRA).
"Siebel Enterprise, Server, and Component Parameters"	Modified topic. Updated the server parameter coverage, as follows: Removed the obsolete parameter DfltProcs. Removed the obsolete parameter EnableComposer. The functionality previously enabled using this parameter is now in effect by default and cannot be changed. For more information, see Using Siebel Tools.
"Structure of the eapps.cfg File"	Removed appendix. In the current release, the Siebel Application Interface has replaced the Siebel Web Server Extension, and the eapps.cfg file no longer applies. For information about the Siebel Application Interface settings available in the Siebel Management Console, see the Siebel Installation Guide for the operating system you are using.
"Configuration Parameters Index"	Modified topic. Updated the configuration parameter coverage, as follows: Removed the obsolete parameter CalDAVService, from the [HTTP Services] section of the eai.cfg file. Removed the obsolete parameters Method and Service, from the [CalDAVService] section of the eai.cfg file.
"Structure of the lbconfig.txt File"	Removed appendix. Load balancing as configured in previous releases no longer applies. Siebel native load balancing is supported in the current release, and works differently than in previous releases.
