Release Notes
Release 2.3.0
E96074-01
May 2018
DIVAnet 2.3.0 introduces AutoCopy, DIVAnet UI enhancements, and manageability/install/upgrade enhancements. The DIVAnet release version number is now three segments (four when the build number is appended).
DIVAnet 2.3.0 can operate with DIVArchive 7.3.1 and later. The DIVAnet 2.2 UI is not compatible with DIVAnet 2.3.0. For this release, all sites must be running ManagerAdapter version 2.3.0.
DIVAnet 2.3.0 requires DIVArchive 7.3.1 (minimum) on all sites, and is supported in the Windows and Oracle Linux operating systems. This version of DIVAnet is configured differently from Legacy DIVAnet 1.0, and therefore not a drop-in replacement.
The following are the feature and functionality enhancements included in DIVAnet 2.3.0.
While DIVAnet 2.2 can automatically synchronize asset metadata from various sites, DIVAnet 2.3.0 introduces automatic copying of asset content to various sites, without the use of DIVA SPM. Users can configure rules to govern which objects should have copy tasks created when new content appears in the system. DIVAnet does not execute the resulting copy tasks immediately, but instead places the copy task into a queue. You can choose various ways to schedule the copies, including submitting them in tape order, and defining daily periods of increased copying. You can place normal copy commands (generated by DIVAnet UI or the DIVA API) directly on the queue. This architecture provides scalability when defining many copies at one time, and is easy to configure and manage.
Sync new objects to remote sites, without SPM or DFM
Detect and sync objects at remote sites
AutoCopy Rules determine which objects to sync
Queue up thousands of copy tasks
Add new tasks using the DIVA API or DIVAnet UI
Pause/Unpause scheduling, or batch schedule copies of existing assets
Schedule objects on the same tape in batches
Define daily peak period
The DIVAnet UI now has enhanced query functionality, making it a better general-purpose search tool.
More assets selectable in Asset Pane (3000+)
UI (and API) Copy requests can optionally be directed to AutoCopy queue
Query all assets in the AutoCopy queue, combine with other filters
Query assets by tape barcode
View and query externalization status
Query requests by request events
