Adding Translations for Suites Operations in Simphony

This feature is only available in Simphony version 2.9 and later. Before performing this procedure, set up languages from the EMC. The Oracle Hospitality Simphony Configuration Guide contains more information on configuring languages in Simphony.

You can translate the dialog boxes and messages that appear when carrying out Suites operations from the POS client by adding the translations as an additional extension application.

  1. Select the Enterprise, property, revenue center, or zone, click Setup, and then click Extension Application.
  2. Double-click the Suites Management extension application record to open it, and then click Insert Application Name.
  3. In the Zoneable Key field, enter SuiteText_, followed by the Text File Name with the translation defined in the Languages module for the relevant language.

For example, if the Text File Name is DE, the Zoneable Key is SuiteText_DE. The Text File Name is defined in the Simphony 2.0 File Name Setting on the General tab of the Languages module.

  4. Enter a Description, and then click OK.
  5. Rename the text file with the translation to the exact name as the Zoneable Key (for example, SuiteText_DE), and then place it in the [Drive Letter]:\MICROS\Simphony2\Tools\Dbupgrade\Suites\Text folder.
  6. On the Designer tab, select 23 - Text as the Content Type, click Import from a file, and then browse and select the text file from the location in Step 5.
  7. Click Save.
