Contract Level Retention

When choosing contract settings as a Main Contractor, you can choose to hold retention against a total billed amount rather than against individual line items. This setting includes the ability to apply stepped retention rules that automatically adjust the retention rate based on the amount of work completed.

Component Level Retention

When choosing contract settings as a Main Contractor, you can choose to allow retention overrides. This setting includes the ability to override retention for a contract component. The Override Retention will apply to any invoices a Subcontractor submits.

See Contract Maintenance for Main Contractors.
See Setting Up Component Level Retention on a Project for instructions.
