Description. When this parameter is active, an additional check box labeled Web Overbooking is visible on the Business Block and Quick Business Block screens. Selecting that box allows the block to override availability and overbook the House if there is block availability. The system decrements the block and adds it to the pickup counts. The override is recorded in the Change Log.

Notes.
  • This functionality only applies to channel interfaces of the type WEB. It does not apply to ADS, ODS, or GDS interfaces. It does not apply to reservations coming through OXI interfaces.
  • The Web Overbooking value is not copied as part of the Copy Block functionality.
  • Selecting or unselecting the Web Overbooking check box only affects subsequent transactions, not past transactions nor current reservations.
  • If this parameter becomes inactive (N), the values for the Web Overbooking field in the Business Block are not reset automatically.
  • Sites using this functionality need to carefully monitor availability.
