Reinstate Cancelled Reservation

At times a reservation with a Cancelled status may have to be reinstated due to a guest's change of plans or a miscommunication between the person who took the information and the guest who booked the reservation. The Reinstate feature can be used, provided that users have the Reservation Reinstate permission active and the reservation departure date is either equal to or greater than the current business date of the property.

To reinstate a reservation that has been canceled, select the Reinstate button on the Reservation Search screen. This button is available if the reservation's status is CANCELLED.

Note: The Reinstate functionality is also available on the canceled reservations option menu.

A message appears asking you to confirm your decision. Select Yes to reinstate the guest.

Note: When reinstating a Share Reservation, after the Yes button is selected to reinstate the reservation, the message "XXX, XXX is sharing with XXX, XXX. Do you wish to reinstate the reservation for XXX, XXX as well?" is displayed for each share that is part of the reservation. Select the Yes button to reinstate the reservation.

If a routing instruction is attached to the canceled reservation that is being reinstated, even if the night audit has been ran, a message is displayed asking the user to verify the routing instructions. Once verified, the user can select the Yes button to reinstate the reservation.

Note: If the end date of any routing instructions falls outside the reservation date range, the routing instruction will be removed. But if the routing instruction is setup for the entire stay or the end date of the routing instruction falls within the date range, then the routing instruction's begin date is moved to match the new arrival date of the reservation.

If interfaces are available (such as telephone), a message asks if you want to notify the interfaces that the guest has checked in. This message only displays when the guest's room type is configured as Send to Interface, which is controlled from the Room Masters screen (Configuration > Reservations > Room Type). Select Yes if you want the property's interfaces to recognize the guest as checked in.

At this point, the guest's reservation status changes from CANCELLED to the original reservation status.
