Changing a Menu Item Price in the Current Round

You can change the price of a menu item that has been entered in the current round. All menu items entered in the current round are affected by the price change. The Change price level function can be used to change prices of combos meals based on the menu level price configuration in Combo Meal Groups.

The change price level function buttons work based on the Main Level and Sub Level configured in the Menu Item Classes module of the EMC. The Change Price Main Level or Change Price Sub Level buttons are both available for selection, but depending on whether menu items (associated with Menu Item Classes option 10 - ON = Use Sub Level Pricing; OFF = Use Main Level Pricing in the EMC) use main or sub levels, click the appropriate button to apply price changes. After selecting the change price level function button in the Main Menu Level or Sub Menu Level dialog, select the menu level, and then click OK. The button can also be configured and named appropriately to change to a specific price level (for example, Happy Hour Price Level).

For maximum efficiency, a macro function button could be used to combine both the change price level and to close the check. The macro button is usually used to combine both the comp price level change and the tender, although it may appear as only being a configured Comp function button. For example, if a guest provides a comp slip for a complimentary beer, you can press the Comp button to easily change the price (without voiding the beer item and then re-adding it to the check), and combine tendering to close the check.
