An owner is assigned to an activity or task from the Roadmap page. To assign a new owner, do the following:
- Select a project and navigate to the Projects roadmap page (Project #) > Go To > Roadmap.
- From the Roadmap page, select the activity or task.
- Select
>Edit > Resources. The resource currently assigned to this activity or task is displayed.
- Assign an existing team member to the activity or click the Add Resource button to add a new resource to this activity or task.
- Choose a project role for the new resource.
- Select a new resource from the drop-down menu. You may only choose from the list of current project team members.
- Enter the Percentage Allocation. You can also choose the role of this resource.
- Accountable (A): Individual who is ultimately responsible for a project with a yes/no authority. One function can have only one accountable person.
- Responsible (R): Individual working on the activity and responsible for action and execution of the plan. The degree of responsibility is usually determined by "A".
- Consult (C): Individual who must be consulted prior to a final decision or action. This involves a two-way communication.
- Inform (I): Individual that needs to know of the decision or action. This is usually a one-way communication.
- Enter the Plan and Actual Percent Availability.
- Enter the Plan Overtime Effort in hours. Planned and actual overtime are part of the total effort and cannot exceed the total effort.
- Total planned effort= Planned standard effort + Planned overtime effort
- Total actual effort = Actual standard effort + Actual overtime effort
- Click the Save button. A new resource is now added to your activity or task.
Note: If the administrator, while creating the activity template, chose to enforce ownership of a task or roadmap by role, only the project manager or users assigned to the chosen roles may be assigned to the task or roadmap. Contact your administrator for details.
