Only users with the appropriate permission can create a proposal from an idea. Depending upon the work-flow, Ideas may need to be approved before they can become proposals. Irrespective of this, the first step to creating a proposal from an Idea is to click on the title of the Idea in the Ideas section of My Work.
- On the Ideas page, click the
icon next to the Idea you want to select and choose Workflow > Accept Idea & Create Proposal. You have now created a new proposal and will be taken directly to the Proposal Details page. - Assign the initial team to the proposal and save your changes for the proposal to be sent to a Proposal Approver. Once a proposal has been approved, a project can be created out of that proposal.
Note: An email is sent to the user who created the idea (and the idea router, if any) to notify them that a proposal has been created from their idea.
