Working with Project Dependencies

From the project roadmap page you can view and specify dependencies from the same project or from other projects. The scheduled status indicator of the predecessor tasks, the predecessor IDs and the type of dependency (finish to start, or offset) are also displayed.

Note: In this release, any date changes made to the predecessor tasks will not change the dates in the current project.

Viewing Project Dependencies

  1. Select a project and navigate to the (Project #) Go To > Roadmaps page.
  2. From the Roadmap page, select a phase.
  3. Select > View Details > Dependencies tab to view the inter and intra project dependencies.

Adding New project Dependencies

  1. Select a project and navigate to the (Project #) Go To > Roadmaps page.
  2. From the Roadmap page, select a phase.
  3. Select > View Details > Dependencies tab. The current inter and intra project dependencies are displayed.
  4. To add a new inter-project dependency, do the following:
    1. From the Predecessor row, click the Add New icon.
    2. Select a sequence number for the activity, or click the [View] link and select an activity. The sequence number is automatically populated.
    3. Enter the type of dependency.
    4. You can select either a Delta offset or Percentage Completion by Date Range. Enter the delta days or enter the percentage completion.
    5. Select the type of enforcement and enter a description.
    6. Click the Save button to add a new dependency.
  5. To add a new intra-project dependency, do the following:
    1. From the Cross-Project Predecessor row, click the Add New icon.
    2. Enter the project number. If you don't know the project number, you can click the [Filter] link to find your project based on certain criteria.
    3. Select a sequence number for the activity.
    4. Enter the type of dependency.
    5. You can select either a Delta offset or Percentage Completion by Date Range. Enter the delta days or enter the percentage completion.
    6. Select the type of enforcement and enter a description.
    7. Click the Save button to add a new dependency.
