You can use the Import feature when you are ready to bring all your data into EnterpriseTrack. A series of steps have to be completed in sequence before you can import data into the EnterpriseTrack system.
Before you begin importing data, do the following:
- Ensure that you have a Microsoft Project template. This template is used when you export/import data from EnterpriseTrack.
- Check if you have downloaded the latest version of the EnterpriseTrack plug-in for Microsoft Project. For instruction on downloading the plug-in, see topic Exporting Project Data to Microsoft Project.
To import data from Microsoft Project, do the following
- Launch Microsoft Office Project on your machine.
- In MS Project, select the Export to EnterpriseTrack option from the Tools menu. The plug-in saves the required data as a zipped XML file.
- Save the file to a directory. Oracle recommends that give the file a meaningful name.
- In your EnterpriseTrack system, navigate to the Project Import/Export page by clicking the Import/Export link within a particular project.
- Click the Import Project data From Microsoft® Project link.
- Check the Release Project Lock box to release the project lock and import. Leave the box unchecked if you do not want remove the lock.
- Click the Browse button. Locate the file that you saved in step 3.
- Click the Import button to begin the import process. A conformation message is displayed when the data is successfully imported. Your data can now be viewed within EnterpriseTrack.
Note: You can use the Data Upload APIs to import multiple files at the same time. See EnterpriseTrack Integration API Reference Guide for more information.
