Exporting a Storyboard to Microsoft PowerPoint

In EnterpriseTrack, you can export all relevant project data to a Microsoft PowerPoint file to create PowerPoint presentations. The data you export is formatted and presented based on the styles defined in your storyboard template. The available templates are selected by your company’s administrator. You can either create a summary or detailed storyboard report. You can also select the content you want displayed, the order it gets displayed, and if you want to include section dividers in the final presentation.

Installing the Plug-in for Microsoft PowerPoint

To export project data, you must first install the EnterpriseTrack plug-in for Microsoft PowerPoint. This is required only when you run the report for the very first time. Follow the steps below only if you have not already installed the Oracle Instantis EnterpriseTrack Microsoft Office PowerPoint Connector.

  1. Navigate to the Reports page by selecting (Project #) > Go To > Reports, or by clicking the Reports link on the Left Navigation bar within a particular project.
  2. Click the Run link next to Storyboard Report.
  3. Click Download Setup to get the latest version of the Oracle Instantis EnterpriseTrack Microsoft Office Power Point Connector.
  4. Click Run and follow the set up instructions to install the connector.

Exporting Project Data to MS PowerPoint

Once you have installed the connector, you can begin exporting a storyboard to PowerPoint.

To export a storyboard:

  1. From the Project Reports page (Project #) > Go To > Reports, click the Run link next to Storyboard Report. You can also generate storyboards from the main Reports page (Go Tor > Reports).
  2. From the Set Storyboard Report Options page, select the type of storyboard you want: Summary Storyboard or Detailed Storyboard.
  3. From the Available Content box, select a component and click on the right arrow to include it in your storyboard output. To select multiple components hold down the Shift button and press the right arrow. You can also double-click an item to select it.
  4. From the Selected Content box, select the order of components. Use the Up and Down buttons to move the order of components on the list. The order of items determines the order of content in the PowerPoint Storyboard output.
  5. From the PowerPoint Template drop-down menu, select a template that your storyboard will use.
  6. Select the Include Section Dividers check box to have dividers between sections in your storyboard output. Deselect the check box to exclude section dividers from the output.
  7. Click Run Report.
  8. Click Run to create the storyboard right away. Click Save to create it at a later time. If you are saving the file, Oracle recommends that give the file a meaningful name, E.g., StoryboardData_projectname.etz. To create a storyboard from a saved file, double click the file.
