Configuring Push Notification Challenge with Oracle Mobile Authenticator in the Oracle Advanced Authentication Self-Service Portal.
Introduction
This tutorial shows you how to use the Self-Service Portal to configure Oracle Mobile Authenticator (OMA) Push Notifications with Oracle Advanced Authentication (OAA), for the purposes of multi-factor authentication.
In this tutorial Oracle Mobile Authenticator is installed on an Android device.
Note: If using iOS devices, the Oracle Mobile Authenticator application has to be customized before it can be used. This customized Oracle Mobile Authenticator application has to be pushed to end users before they can use push notifications. Administrators can find more information at Configuring Oracle Mobile Authenticator Push Notification for iOS.
Objectives
In this tutorial you will perform the following tasks:
- Configure the OMA Push Notification challenge factor in the Self-Service Portal.
Prerequisites
Before starting this tutorial ensure you have met these requirements:

An Oracle Advanced Authentication deployment is available with Factor Verification enabled. See, Configuring Factor Verification.

Oracle Advanced Authentication is configured to use Push Notification for Android as per the following sections:

Oracle Mobile Authenticator is installed on your Android mobile device. You can download Oracle Mobile Authenticator from the Google Play Store.

You have access to the Self-Service Portal and can login with your user credentials.
Configure OMA Push Notification Challenge in the Self-Service Portal

Access the Self-Service Portal. For example,
https://oaa.example.com/oaa/rui

Log in with your credentials. For example,
testuser/<password>
. -
In the left navigation menu, select My Authenticators.

Select Add Authentication Factor, and from the drop down menu select OMA Push Notification Challenge:

In the Add Mobile Device screen, a QR code is displayed along with a one time PIN:

On your mobile device start Oracle Mobile Authenticator and click Add Account +. Scan the QR code with the camera on your mobile device:

You will be asked to enter your username (for example,
testuser
) and the PIN code displayed on the QR code screen. Click Sign in:Note: The username is case sensitive and must be entered as displayed in the top right of the Self-Service Portal.

In the Self-Service Portal screen, click Done:

If the registration is successful, the Self-Service Portal will show the factor has been added:
