Managing Restrictions

Viewing Restrictions

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Inventory, and then select Manage Restrictions.

  2. Confirm or enter a property, date, and other search criteria, click Search.

  3. View search results in the panel below.

  4. Select a view option to change the display of the result.

  5. Use the date navigation < to move backward or forward through dates.

Adding Restrictions

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Inventory, and then select Manage Restrictions.

  2. Click New and complete the following:

    1. Start Date: The restriction start date. This date cannot be greater than 5 years from the current business date.

    2. End Date: The restriction end date. This date cannot be greater than 5 years from the current business date.

    3. Restriction Days: All check boxes are pre-selected by default. Click to remove the checkmark for days you do not want the restriction to be applied. For example, if a date range is for the entire month, but you do not want it to apply on Saturdays and Sundays, you would remove the check marks from the Saturday and Sunday check box.

    4. Restriction Type: Select the down arrow to choose the restriction type you want to apply. For more information, see Restrictions.

    5. Inventory:

      1. House: Select to indicate that the restriction applies at the house (property) level.

      2. Room Class: Select the room classes from list to which this restriction applies. (Available when the Room Class OPERA Control is enabled).

      3. Room Types: Select the room types from list to which this restriction applies.

    6. Rate Category: Select the rate category(s) from list to which this restriction applies. (Available when the Rate Category Restrictions OPERA Control is enabled).

    7. Rate Code: Select the rate code(s) from list to which this restriction applies.

    8. Channel: Select the channel(s) from list to which this restriction applies.

  3. Click Save to save and close the dialog, or Save and Continue to save and add another new restriction.

Editing Restrictions

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Inventory, and then select Manage Restrictions.

  2. Confirm or enter a property, date, and other search criteria, click Search.

  3. Click the restriction in the calendar or list view.

  4. Click the vertical ellipsis button and then select View to open the Edit Restriction screen.

  5. Make your changes.

  6. Click Save.

Deleting Restrictions

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Inventory, and then select Manage Restrictions.

  2. Confirm or enter a property, date, and other search criteria, click Search.

  3. Click the restriction in the calendar or list view.

  4. Click the vertical ellipsis button and then select Delete.

  5. Confirm by clicking Delete again on the confirmation message.

Clear All Restrictions for Selected Date

To clear all restrictions for a specific date

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Inventory, and then select Manage Restrictions.

  2. Confirm or enter a property, select the date, click Search.

  3. Select the date in the calendar or list view.

  4. Click Vertical Ellipse click Clear All.

  5. Confirm by clicking Clear All again in the confirmation dialog.

View Restrictions Changes

View a log of all changes to rate restrictions

  1. Click the vertical ellipsis and select Changes Log.

  2. Enter search criteria and click Search.
