Modify/Update Block — Shift Block Date

Use the Shift Block Date action to update a business block and associated events to a new arrival/start date. When a shift date is initiated, any events associated with the block are updated. To ensure that the date change does not create availability conflicts, OPERA Cloud checks to ensure that rooms, function spaces, and event resources are available on the new date.

When the Event Waitlist OPERA Control is active, and the status change/shift dates would cause a wait list situation, a processing screen appears with the option to wait list or cancel the event. When the Event wait list is not active, and status change/shift dates would cause an over book situation (with another block), a processing screen appears with the appropriate message, and you are required to cancel the current action.

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Blocks, and select Manage Block.

  2. Enter search criteria and click Search.

  3. Select the block in the search result and click I Want To . . . , click Modify/Update , and click Shift Block Date.

  4. Enter or select a new start date for the business block.

  5. Click Save.
