Prerequisites for Reservation Types .
When making a reservation, a reservation type (also called a guarantee code) must be selected for the reservation to identify if the reservation is to deduct a room from inventory. Typical reservation types for standard reservations are 6:00 PM Hold, Guaranteed by Credit Card, Guaranteed by Company, and so on. For tentative reservations, typical reservation types are Deposit Expected or Confirmation Expected,
Non deduct reservations are not included in the availability calculations by default, but they can be included if you select the Non-deduct Rooms Sold and the Available Rooms with Non-deduct (Rooms Sold) view options when you access the Property Availability.
Group blocks and travel agent (block) allotments must also be assigned reservation types. This provides several different combinations to cover guaranteed / deduct blocks, non-guaranteed / non-deduct blocks, or non-deduct allotments with deduct reservations.
Note:
Checked In is a pre-configured and required reservation type and cannot be deleted.
