Configuring (Calendar) Event Codes

Calendar events are used to identify activities and events in the local area that may affect occupancy and in turn impact rate strategy and yield management decisions.

Events could be local festivals, sporting events, concerts and so on. OPERA Cloud support tracking of these events and when they occur via the Property Calendar. Adding (Calendar) Event Codes

Note:

When the multi-property service is active, new Event Codes are created by selecting the Template tab. Once created, you can copy Event Codes to specific properties using the Copy action. For more information, see Copying Configuration Codes to Multiple Properties
  1. From the OPERA Cloud Administration menu, select Financial, select Rate Management, and then select Event Codes.
  2. Click New and complete the following fields:

    1. Property: Select or confirm the Property code.

    2. Code: Enter an abbreviate Code for the event.

    3. Description: Enter a Description for the event.

    4. Sequence: Enter a number that determines the position of the code in lists.

    5. Blackout: Select to identify this event code as Blackout dates.

  3. Click Save.

Editing Event Codes

  1. From the OPERA Cloud Administration menu, select Financial, select Rate Management, and then select Event Codes.

  2. Select or confirm the property.

  3. Enter the search criteria and click Search.

  4. In the Search results, select the code and click the vertical ellipsis.

  5. Click Edit.

  6. Update the configuration.

    Select Inactive to mark the event code inactive. Inactive Event Codes do not appear in search results.

  7. Click Save.

Deleting Event Codes

  1. From the Administration menu, select Financial, select Rate Management, and then select Event Codes.

  2. Select or confirm the property.

  3. Enter the search criteria and click Search.

  4. In the Search results, select the code and click the vertical ellipsis.

  5. Click Delete.

  6. Confirm deletion by clicking Delete.
