Managing Reservation Upgrade Offers

Reservation Upgrade functionality enables the ability to present reservation and guest service agents will room type upgrade opportunities; detailing the available room type(s) and pricing on offer.

Agent upgrade conversion performance is tracked in OPERA Cloud and the details available on the Reservation Upgrade report.

The upgrade charge is posted to a separate transaction code, defined in the upgrade rules. This allows you to route the original room charge separately from the upgrade charge and exclude the upgrade charges from travel agent commission.

An information link appears at the top of the following pages to view upgrade offers available for eligible reservations; based on the selected room type and rate code.

Reservation updates via Look to Book (stay dates, room type, rate code amended) will result in the removal of the upgrade offer applied; Look to Book will display new upgrade offers based on the amended stay details.

Reservation updates via Reservation Presentation (Adults etc) will result in you being prompted to manage the upgrade offer accordingly.

Upgrades not available for reservations with following conditions:

  • Shared Reservation

  • Checked In Reservation

  • Block Reservation

  • Multi leg Reservation

  • Multi rate Reservation

  • Reservations with reserved room type <> room type to charge (RTC)

  • Suppress Rate Reservation

Viewing and Applying Reservation Upgrade Offer 

  1. Click the Room upgrade available for this reservation link displayed at the top of Reservation Presentation.

  2. The upgrade offers are displayed.

  3. Click the < > to navigate left and right through the offers.

    Note:

    During mobile check-in you can present the offers to the guest directly on the tablet.
  4. Tap to select an offer

  5. Click Apply Upgrade.

The room type, room rate and fixed rate checkbox will be updated after applying the upgrade 

Viewing Reservation Upgrade Activity

  1. From the application menu, select Bookings, and then select Manage Reservations.

  2. Enter search criteria, click Search

  3. Select the reservation in the result, click I Want To... , click Upgrade or open the reservation presentation and click Upgrade details link.

  4. Details of the upgrade as well as the user and date that the upgrade was applied are displayed.

Removing Reservation Upgrade Offer

  1. From the application menu, select Bookings, and then select Manage Reservations.

  2. Enter search criteria, click Search

  3. Select the reservation in the result, click I Want To... , click Upgrade or open the reservation presentation and click Upgrade details link.

  4. Click Remove Upgrade to revert the reservation to the original room type reserved.
