Excluding Package Items Included in Rate Code

Package items are often linked to the reservation as part of the rate code selected for the reservation. (Package items that are attached to the reservation by the rate code display the rate code in the Rate Code column.) You may, however, decide that you do not want to include the package item in the rate code for a specific reservation. For example, an (add to rate) airport pickup package item may be linked to a rate code and certain guests might not require the transportation and can request this package item to be excluded for their reservation. Excluding a package item does not reduce the reservation rate amount; rather the internal revenue split is adjusted accordingly.

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Bookings, select Reservations, and then select Manage Reservation.

  2. Enter search criteria and click Search.

  3. Select the reservation in the search results, click I Want To… and then select Packages or click the Packages link in Reservation Presentation.

  4. In the Selected Packages panel, click This image is for updating details for the selected package element and update details.

    1. Excluded Quantity: Enter the number of the package elements to exclude. The Excluded Quantity cannot exceed the Calculated Quantity displayed.

      Note:

The Excluded Quantity flag is applied to the entire stay. Once the reservation has checked in and End of Day processing has been run, the Excluded Quantity field can no longer be edited.
  5. Click This image displays a tick.

  6. Click Save.

    Note:

Excluding a package item included in the rate does not reduce the reservation rate amount;  rather the internal revenue split is adjusted , increasing the room revenue based on the item price of the excluded package item.
