The section describes known issues in version 11.3.2 of Tools and Frameworks.
(30406313) With the Edge browser, certain Experience Manager user dialogs are placed incorrectly on the screen when opened and need to be repositioned for use
When you open some Experience Manager dialogs (for example, Select User Segment and Select Template) using the Edge browser, the dialogs are positioned incorrectly on the screen so that they are partially cut off, and need to be repositioned for use.
(30256282) Experience Manager displays invalid or deleted folders in a slot's "Content Sources"
In Experience Manager, if a folder that is a source for a slot is moved or deleted, the folder still appears under the slot's "Content Sources". However, the moved/deleted folder's contents (correctly) do not appear in the Slot Contents list view, nor do they fire in the slot on the end user website. You can manually remove the invalid or deleted folder from "Content Sources" .
(30210426) Keyboard navigation is incorrect in Experience Manager List panels
Keyboard operation does not work correctly in the Experience Manager List views with either Firefox or Chrome. When JAWS 2019 is in use, and focus is on the table header, Tab moves focus to the pagination control instead of to the table rows. In addition, you cannot use the Down arrow to move from the table header to the first row, nor from one row to the next; instead, the Down arrow traverses each cell of the header, and of any row, before moving to the next row.
(29445718) When focus is on a menu option in the Experience Manager toolbar, pressing the ESC key does not let you exit the menu
When you log into the Workbench and press Tab until you reach the menu toolbar (for example, Home), you can press Enter to expand the menu and then then press ESC to exit the menu. However, when focus is on a menu option (such as EAC Connection Settings), pressing the ESC key does nothing. The ESC action only works as expected (allowing you to exit the menu) on the topmost element of the menu option list. Once focus is on a menu option, you must either traverse the whole menu in order to leave it, or use Shift+Tab to return to the main menu.
(28805712) Preivew not getting refreshed when another page is triggered from audit
When you preview a page from the Experience Manager tree or the audit list panel, it does not refresh if you audit a browse page slot or edit a rule, and click Save and Preview.
Workaround Do not click Save and Preview. Instead, save and then preview.
(27403908) CJK characters in Experience Manager are corrupted post migration
Upon migration to Version 11.3.2 with Windows, a rule with Chinese, Japanese, or Korean characters in its name sometimes does not appear correctly in Experience Manager. This happens specifically when the application is imported from a decompressed zip file.
Workaround Import the application using the original zip file.
(27900056) Column width in Experience Manager list views cannot be changed by dragging
Dragging the borders of columns in Experience Manager list views to change the width of the columns causes distortions in the display of the UI.
Workaround To resize columns, right-click the column head to open the column's context menu. In the context menu, select Resize and enter the desired new size of the column.
(27461402) Custom site icon cannot be displayed in Experience Manager tree post migration
Due to restrictions with JET, custom site icon created in previous releases fail to appear in Experience Manager tree after the migration to 11.3.2.
(28106544) Column width in Experience Manager list views is reduced to 10px less than the value specified in the Resize Column pop-up
The width of a column is changed to 10px less than the number that you enter in the Resize Column pop-up, which you access through the column's context menu.
Workaround Enter 10px more than the desired value in the Resize Column pop-up.
(28076550) Resize icon appears next to the column header in Experience Manager list views
When you resize a column in an Experience Manager list view by dragging, the resize icon appears next to the header of the column that you are resizing. Instead, the icon should appear on the column boundary that you are dragging.
Workaround To resize columns, right-click the column head to open the column's context menu. In the context menu, select Resize and enter the desired new size of the column.
(27984441) Columns in Experience Manager list views cannot be resized after a rule in the table has been delete or cut
After a rule in a table has been delete or cut, a first attempt to resize a column in the table will be successful, but subsequent attempts to resize columns will fail.
Workaround Resize columns either before cutting or deleting any rule (or) after saving the list panel changes.
(27531578) In the Safari browser, the restricted icon is not displayed when certain disallowed drag and drop operations are attempted
In the Safari browser only, the restricted icon is not displayed when certain disallowed drag and drop operations are attempted.
These operations include:
This problem does not occur in browsers other than Safari.
Workaround: If you are unable to drag an object into a folder but the restricted icon is not displayed, assume that the folder is restricted.
(27309117) Drag and drop in mini-tree drops only at top of tree and inside another node
Two issues occur with mini-tree drag and drop editor panel when using the Mozilla Firefox and Safari browsers:
Workaround: Use the Google Chrome browser instead.
(26084624) - In the Safari browser, the text "Product Image" appears in place of broken thumbnail icon
In the Safari browser, the text "Product Image" is displayed in place of the broken thumbnail icon where a product image cannot be displayed. The problem occurs when the user clicks Edit Record on a refinement in the Spotlight or Results List rule.
In browsers other than Safari, the broken thumbnail icon appears where product images cannot be displayed.
(18816983) BCC user segment not appearing in Experience Manager
If you create a Business Control Center (BCC) user segment in the RepositoryGroup folder and then move it to the UserProfiles folder, the segment ceases to appear in Experience Manager. Note that this only applies to environments where the BCC user segments are enabled in Experience Manager.
Workaround: Delete the Business Control Center user segment from the RepositoryGroups folder and create it again in the UserProfiles folder.
(18780298) Cartridge example causes error
The ColorConfig cartridge example found in ToolsAndFrameworks/<version>/reference/cookbook/AccessingCartridgeConfiguration causes an error when added to a page.
When creating a new user segment, if you go into Experience Manager and attempt to preview the application with that new user segment, you may not see it in the "User Segments" drop down.
Workaround: Log out of Workbench and log back in and then the new user segment will appear in the "User Segments" drop down in Preview.
(21363913) Modification date of renamed or moved pages is not updated in Experience Manager projects
In Experience Manager, if you rename or move a page the modification date does not get updated as it would for other edits. You can see this behavior reflected in the timestamp in the project contents list and the page's edit view. In both cases the timestamp is not updated. The rename or move, however, still shows up in the project contents list and can be reverted like any other change.
(21502844) Renaming and saving a site page produces "Page not found" error
If you rename a top level site page in Experience Manager and then save and preview the page, you see "Page not found" in the page contents. The rename operation is technically a move operation in Experience Manager, so the old path no longer exists. Although "Page not found" is the correct behavior, a more informative message should appear.
Moreover, renaming a site page that is associated with the search service can hinder your search capabilities -- for example the browse page in the sample Discover Electronics application. Oracle does not recommend letting non-administrators edit this page.
Workaround: In the navigation tree, right-click on the renamed site page and select Preview.
(21801912) Preview does not refresh after adding content
In Experience Manager preview, if you click Keep Editing, update content, and then click Save and Preview, the preview panel does not refresh with the updated content.
Workaround: Preview the page from navigation tree, or reload the page from navigation tree and then preview it.
(21864376) Cannot export an application when a folder name is changed from upper to lower case
This issue is specific to Microsoft Windows deployments of Tools and Frameworks.
If you change the case of a folder name in Experience Manager but do not change the name itself, the application cannot be exported. This issue occurs because a rename is technically a move in Experience Manager and a moveSource and moveTarget cannot have the same name. Windows file systems do not recognize differences in case. Only one asset can exist at a location with the a given name. This issue only occurs in Windows because its file system is not case sensitive.
(21979685) Passwords are platform-dependent during migration
When migrating to 11.3.2, if users are exported from Windows to the UNIX systems (Linux or Solaris), or from the UNIX systems to Windows, the passwords will not work. Therefore the users will not able to log in to the Workbench by using the old passwords.
Workaround: The administrator can reset the passwords for the users.
(23305432) Renaming the browse page causes exception to appear in promotional banner slot
If you rename the browse page in the sample Discover Electronics application, the following error message will display in the Promotional Banner Slot:
Unable to display component due to error "com.endeca.infront.content.ContentException: The following content URI could not be resolved: /pages/DiscoverElectronics/browse".
Workaround: In the navigation tree, right-click on the renamed browse page and select Preview.
(25917826) Sorting and filtering are restricted to certain columns
In 11.3.0, in the lists of rules (Find Rules, folder contents, slot contents, audit), sorting is restricted to the Name, Template, Path, and Priority columns; and filtering (searching) is restricted to the Name, Template, and Path columns. These restrictions were imposed to help address performance issues.
(25558054)
import_site
and
export_site
cause Discover authoring fail to
load
import_site.sh|bat and
export_site.sh|bat were deprecated in 11.3.0, . If you
run these two commands to import and export Workbench content, authoring
assemblers are not updated correctly. When you view the authoring version of
your Assembler Web application, for example, Discover Electronics reference
application, an error message is displayed.
Workaround: Do not run
import_site.sh|bat or
export_site.sh|bat. To import or export Workbench
content, from the control directory of the deployed EAC app, run the
importApplication or
exportApplication script. For example:
C:\Endeca\apps\Discover\control>runCommand.bat IFCR importApplication $BASE_APP_FOLDER\config\migrate_config
runCommand.sh IFCR exportApplication $BASE_APP_FOLDER/config/import
(25588322) Cartridge template fails to load when you have a property key but no locales directory
If you include a property key in the
template.xml file for a template, you must have a
locales subdirectory in the template directory.
Otherwise the cartridge template will fail to load when you try to create a
rule and select this cartridge template in the Experience Manager.
