Creating, Modifying, Saving, and Deleting Data

In general, you can create items and then directly modify the data in any field at any time; however, the application will often guide you by making certain fields read-only or hiding them when appropriate. To create items, follow the steps in the task topics included in this online help or user guide. To modify data, follow the Getting Here steps to navigate to a page or dialog box where you can directly view and edit the data. For example, to modify activity data, navigate to the Activities page.

Once on a page, click in a field on a page or double-click in a table cell to edit or remove a value. Once you select save, changes made will cascade through P6 automatically. You should save after each change that you make to views, portlets, and layouts, even if you have not changed any data in the view.

Other P6 users can make updates simultaneously on the same page you are working on. To view saved changes made by other users, update your view by using the internet browser refresh or navigate away and return to the page.
