About P6 Visualizer

Oracle Primavera P6 Visualizer is a reporting-tool that you can use to create customizable Gantt charts and Timescaled Logic Diagrams (TSLDs) for time-based, daily comparison reporting. P6 Visualizer can be launched as a standalone application that can connect to P6 Professional and P6 EPPM databases. You can also open P6 Visualizer by selecting Tools, Visualizer from P6 Professional.

Caution: Personal information (PI) may be at risk of exposure. Depending on local data protection laws organizations may be responsible for mitigating any risk of exposure.

Project data is not sent from P6 Professional to P6 Visualizer. Instead, you select projects from within P6 Visualizer.

Gantt charts provide a graphical display of the project's schedule information in the order determined by grouping and sorting options. The Gantt chart shows each activity's duration, using the timescale specified, as a horizontal bar. A line connecting activity bars indicates a relationship. Gantt charts allocate one row for each activity. The Grid allows you to see detailed information about each activity.

TSLDs allow more than one activity per row, which condenses the entire project plan and the chains of activities that drive the project schedule. TSLDs present a graphic depiction of activities and the overall logic of a project according to time.

Schedule Comparison enables you to generate a report that compares selected data fields in a revised project and its corresponding original project or a revised project and a corresponding baseline.

P6 Visualizer allows you to set options, then visualize the reports. You can directly output reports to print.

When you start the P6 Visualizer application, the P6 Visualizer workspace appears. The P6 Visualizer workspace is the user interface from which you draw, view, edit, print, and save Gantt charts and TSLDs.

Note: To access page-specific help, use the F1 key. For example, to open the help topic "Timescale tab of the Layout Options page," navigate to the Timescale tab from the Create New layout or Open existing layout dialog box, or by clicking Options from the Diagram page, then use F1. Either the Local Help or Online Help topic will appear, depending on settings in the Admin Preferences dialog box in P6 Professional.
