About Filtering

You can specify filters and filter criteria for Gantt and TSLD layouts. The applied filters are saved with the layout.

There are two sides to the Filters tab of the Layout Options page.

On the left side, you can add, delete, copy, and paste filters. Standard filters cannot be modified. You can also promote and demote filters between categories. By default, "All selected filters" is selected for the filter. Filter names only need to be unique within each category - Standard, Global, Layout, and User. You can rename filters by double-clicking on the filter name. You must be assigned the Add/Edit/Delete Global Visualizer Filters privilege in order to make changes to filters in the Global category. This privilege is defined in P6 Professional when you are connected to a P6 Professional database and in P6 when you are connected to a P6 EPPM database.

You can select a filter from the Filter Name list to further define filter criteria and logical constraints on the right side in the Details areas. A band must be selected from the Filter Name list on the left side of this tab in order to display filter details. Deleting a logic band in Filter Details will delete everything under it. You cannot paste when the top most node is selected because it does not have a sibling.

In the Details area, one criterion row is displayed by default. You can add more filter criteria by adding rows and nested rows. You can add an unlimited levels of nested rows.

Any changes made to the filter and filter criteria for global and user filters are available for any layouts. Layout filters and filter criteria are only available for the layouts in which they are created.
