In this video you will learn how to apply a credit card rebate to a

reservation. Let's get started. In OPERA Cloud go to front desk and then

select in-house. To search for the reservation I must select a property. I

select the property from the list and then click select.

Next click search. I'll click the confirmation number to go to the

reservation. First I'll click the payment instructions to confirm a credit card

as a payment method is set up for this reservation. Here I can see the credit

card payment method for each window.

Next I'll scroll up to the top of the reservation and click the I want to menu.

And then click billing. At the top of the billing screen click post payment.

Now select the window to apply the rebate. In this example, I select window 3.

You can see the credit card payment method applies to this window. In the

amount field I enter the rebate amount as a negative number. For example, I enter

negative $20. Next I must enter a value in the reference field that's a minimum

of 6 alpha or numeric characters. In this example, I enter rebate.

I can check the override debit activity to process rebate checkbox. If you do not

check this option, and it's configured, OPERA validates if the debit or credit

card was previously charged for this guest and it validates if the sum of the

previous amounts charge was greater than or equal to the amount of the rebate. To
