Generating Reports

From the Manage Report screen, you can:

  • Search for a report based on specific criteria.

    Note:

    The available report groups are determined by the report group tasks assigned to your role(s). The reports and report parameters available is determined by the OPERA Controls active at your property.
  • Generate a report with default parameters or modify the report parameters.

  • Email a report in various file formats to one or more recipients.

  • Download a report in various file formats.

  • Print a report to an email addressable printer.

  • Preview a report as a PDF and then print it to a local or network printer.

  • Schedule a report. (Available when the Report Scheduler OPERA Control is active). See Managing Scheduled Reports .

  • Manage customized stationery templates. See About Stationery Editor (Oracle Business Intelligence (BI) Publisher).

  • Copy reports and stationery templates to other properties. See Copying Reports to Multiple Properties.

File formats available for email delivery and file download vary depending on the specific report; these include PDF, HTML, RTF, XML, Excel, Delimited, and Delimited Data.

Reports that support multiple properties are indicated in the search results, and you can generate these reports with multiple properties selected when operating from a Hub location. See Changing Your Location in Multi-Property Operations.

You can use the ribbon on the Run Reports screen to configure a New Report or Configuring Report Groups.

Generating Reports

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Reports, and then Manage Reports.

  2. On the Manage Reports screen, enter or confirm the Property Code. If you are logged in at the hub level, you will have the option to view either Global reports or Property reports.

  3. Enter a report name and/or select a Report Group from the list and then click Search.

    Note:

    The available report groups are determined by the report group tasks assigned to your role(s). The reports and report parameters available is determined by the OPERA Controls active at your property.
  4. Select a report from the search result. From the result you can generate a report (with default parameters) by following the steps below:
    1. To print the report:
      1. Select a printer from the Select Printer list, this lists any email addressable printers. For more information, see Configuring Printers.

      2. Click the Print button to print the report to the selected printer.

        Note:

        Printer selection is retained during your session.

    2. To download the report:
      1. Click the Download As button.

      2. Select a file format from the list.

      3. Click Download. File formats available are HTML, RTF, PDF, XML, Delimited, Delimited Data and Excel (for selected BI Publisher-based reports).

        Note:

        It is recommended to use only Delimited and Delimited Data file formats for reports with simple tabular layouts. Delimited and Delimited Data file formats should not be selected for reports that have group-by's or other complex layouts that can cause duplication of rows or prevent rows from generating in the report.
    3. To email the report:

      1. Click the Email button and then enter the email address or addresses of the recipient(s). You can enter separate email addresses for multiple recipients with a comma (,) or semi-colon (;).

      2. Select a file format from the list

      3. Click Email.

    4. To preview the report:

      1. Click the Preview button. A PDF file is generated and displayed in a separate browser window.

      2. To Print the PDF, select the print icon or press [CNTRL][P] to launch the print dialogue for your browser.

      3. To download the PDF to your workstation click the download option in your browser.

    5. To edit the report parameters, click the Edit Report Parameters button.
      1. On the Report Parameters page, edit the report parameters as required.

      2. Select a report destination and format per the above steps to generate the report.

      3. Click Cancel to return to the report search page.
