Creating a Proposed Budget for Projects in Primavera Cloud

To create a proposed budget for a project in Primavera Cloud:

  1. Sign in to Primavera Cloud as a global administrator or an application administrator with permissions to use the Tasks, and Cash Flow applications.
  2. Select a workspace for the project:
    1. In the object selector, select Workspaces.
    2. In the Search bar, search and select the workspace for the project.
  3. Add a project in the selected workspace as follows:
    1. On the Workspace Home page, select + Add..., and then select Project....
    2. In the Project Details step of the Projects wizard, enter information in the required fields for your project, and then select Finish.
    3. On the Project Home page, select View Summary & Settings....
    4. Enter the Project Planned Finish date for the project and select Save.
  4. Add a proposed budget for this project as follows:
    1. In the sidebar, select Cost and Funds, and then select Cash Flow.
    2. In the Total Cost column, enter values for Planned Budget, Forecast, and Actual.
      • Note: A Forecast value must exist for this project.
    3. Select Save.
  5. Associate a portfolio with this project as follows:
    1. In the object selector, select Portfolios, and then select Add Portfolio....
    2. In the Name field, enter a name for the portfolio, and then select Add.
    3. On the Portfolios page, select the row listing the portfolio you added.
    4. In the Project List detail tab below, select Edit Filter.
    5. In the Set Filter Criteria dialog box, select the project with the proposed budget values using the name of the project, and then select Assign.
    6. Select Save.
  6. Add a scenario for the portfolio with the project containing proposed budget values as follows:
    1. In the object selector, select Portfolios.
    2. In the Search bar, search and select the portfolio you created above.
    3. In the sidebar, select Cost and Funds, and then select the Add Scenario button.
    4. In the Name field, enter a name for the scenario and then select Save.
  7. In the Constraints & Objectives section, optimize the scenario as follows:
    1. Under Primary Objective, select Proposed Budget from the Maximize list.
    2. Select Optimize.
  8. In the Project View tab, expand your project in the Name column.
  9. To link the project's planned budget with the proposed budget, select Link.
  10. From the <scenario name> list, select Proposed....
  11. In the Propose <Scenario Name> dialog box, select Propose.

    The Budget Review Status column for the proposed budget of the project is in a Pending status.

    Note: The status of the proposed budget must be set to Pending to send this data to P6.
