Before you send data or receive data from Primavera Cloud, you must ensure projects in P6 EPPM have certain key data that are common to both applications in order to relate to each other. Run a master data synchronization from Gateway If you choose to transfer data for:
- all projects in an EPS node
- few projects within an EPS node
- multiple projects across several EPS nodes
Note: Running a master data synchronization is optional, but recommended as an efficient method to prepare both enterprise applications for data transfers. Alternatively, you can transfer data for each project directly without running the master data synchronization. However, when running the project data synchronization, you may need to specify additional parameters to ensure the source application knows where to populate the data in the destination application. For more details see the section, Sending Project Data from P6 EPPM to Primavera Cloud.
To exchange data with Primavera Cloud, projects and EPS codes in P6 EPPM must be associated with a workspace location in Primavera Cloud.
A workspace location is required for a P6 EPPM project only if you want to transfer data to Primavera Cloud. Having this information ensures the P6 EPPM project is located in a specific workspace location within Primavera Cloud when the data transfer is completed.
For detailed instructions on how to populate P6 EPPM with workspace IDs, see the section Associating Projects in P6 EPPM with Primavera Cloud Workspaces.
