It is possible to create a portfolio that does not automatically perform the categories' summary. This portfolio type is called Non-Calculating Portfolio. Creating a non-calculating portfolio is convenient whenever the calculations are an unnecessary overhead, for example, in an organizational portfolio.
Note:
- Once you create a non-calculating portfolio, you may change it to a regular portfolio, but the action is irreversible. If you uncheck the Do not perform summary calculations for this portfolio checkbox, you receive a warning message.
- Although it is impossible to convert a calculating portfolio into a non-calculating one, you can create a new portfolio and check the Do not perform summary calculations for this portfolio checkbox; move all of the items (or portfolios) from the calculating to the non-calculating portfolio; or delete the calculating portfolio.
