Specify how you want to assign IDs to activities in the open project, including the increment by which activity IDs are added, a prefix, and a suffix for activity IDs.
- Choose Enterprise, Projects and display Project Details.
- Click the Defaults tab.
- In the Auto-Numbering Defaults section, type the prefix for new activity IDs.
- Type the suffix for new activity IDs.
- Type the increment by which to add new activity IDs.
- Mark Increment Activity ID Based on Selected Activity if you want new activities to increment the activity ID based off the currently selected activity.
Notes
- Your activity ID settings apply to new activities only.
- When a new activity is created, the activity ID is automatically generated using auto-numbering. Activity ID auto-numbering concatenates the prefix and the suffix, with the suffix incremented to make the ID unique. For example, "A" (prefix), "1000" (suffix), and "10" (increment) yields activity IDs of "A1010," "A1020," "A1030," and so on. If you change the activity ID prefix, suffix, or increment, the change applies to new activities only.
