This example shows how to create a new field mapping template for a business object and specify custom fields that are to be supported in the template.
Prerequisites
You have configured Primavera Gateway with P6 and Sample deployments.
Procedure
To create a new field mapping template for a Resource business object in P6:
- In the sidebar, select Configuration.
- Select the Field Mapping Templates tab.
- From the Select Business Object list, select Resource, and then select Add....
- In the General step:
- Enter a Template Name, Custom Field Mapping for Resource.
- Select Template Type as Direct.
- Select Provider 1 as Sample.
- Select Provider 2 as P6.
- Select Object 1 as Resource.
- Select Object 2 as Resource.
- In the Mappings step, create field mappings using any of the following methods:
- Add a new custom field as follows:
- In the Sample: Resource drop-down, select Add New Field.
- In the Enter name field, type MaterialResource.
- In the Select Field Type drop-down, select Boolean.
- Enter an optional description of the new field.
- Repeat above steps for Gateway: Resource and P6: Resource fields.
- In the Select Field Category drop-down select UDF.
- Select Add.
- Repeat previous steps to add multiple fields to the template.
- Select Auto Generate to generate default mappings for identical fields that exist for the Resource business object in Sample, Gateway, and P6.
- Add a new custom field as follows:
- In the Summary step, review all selections and then select Save.
The Custom Field Mapping for Resource will now be available in the Field Mappings tab of the Project Data page for the Resource object.
Tips:
- You can also edit a field-mapping template and select Save in any step to exit the wizard.
