Editing Objects and Fields in Data Dictionaries

Every object in a data dictionary can be edited at two levels:

Depending on the provider and the data dictionary selected, a provider object can be edited to include or delete fields, update fields, flow control and cross-reference key information.

Editing at the Object Level

To edit an object in a data dictionary:

  1. In the navigation menu, select Data Dictionary and then select a provider data dictionary.
  2. Highlight and only select the row listing the object, and then select Edit...

    The Object and Fields wizard displays.

  3. Follow the Object and Fields wizard to:
    • Edit object name and description
    • Edit existing fields, add, and delete fields supported by the object
    • Flow types supported for the object (master data or project data)
    • cross-reference mappings to Gateway object
    • Review a summary of the object information

Editing at the Field Level

To edit an object in a data dictionary:

  1. In the navigation menu, select Data Dictionary and then select a provider data dictionary.
  2. Select the object, and then select Edit...
  3. Follow the Object and Fields wizard to:
    • Edit existing fields, add, and delete fields supported by the object
    • Review a summary of the object information
