The following example demonstrates how to set up a job sequence to synchronize and update the default global calendars in Sample and P6. The jobs must execute in the following order:
- Sync default global calendar schedule
- Update default global calendar
Prerequisites
The following prerequisites are assumed to be complete.
- Two master data business flows have been created:
- Sync default global calendar
- Update default global calendar
- Two corresponding synchronizations have also been created:
- Sync default global calendar schedule
- Update default global calendar
Schedule a Synchronization Job Sequence
To ensure the above sequence is created, set up the sequence beginning with the last synchronization as follows:
- In the sidebar, select Synchronizations.
- In the Synchronization Name column, select Update default global calendar.
- In theActions menu, select Edit Schedule....
- In the Edit Schedule dialog box:
- Select After Synchronization in the Frequency list.
- Select Sync default global calendar schedule in the Run After Synchronization list.
- Select Save.
- To run the job sequence:
- Select the Synchronization Name, Sync default global calendar schedule.
- Select Run.
- In the Run Synchronization dialog box, select Run Sync default global calendar schedule and linked synchronization:
- Select Confirm.
- On the Monitoring page, review the work done by the job sequence in the Job Details tab and the Object Details tab.
Viewing the Synchronization Job Chaining Diagram
To see the job chaining sequence as a flow diagram:
- In the sidebar, select Synchronizations.
- In the Synchronization Name column, select Sync default global calendar schedule.
- In theActions menu, select Job Chain Diagram.
The synchronization job chaining sequence displays as a flow diagram.
