Configure Tasks in the Process Flow

Widgets are used to orchestrate AFCS components Data Quality (DQ) Groups into your Process Flow using the Process Modeller.

How to Use a Widget

1.     In the Process Flow window, click the  required widget under Widget in the toolbar and Drag and drop it onto the canvas.

2.     Double-click the widget.
The Activity Window is displayed.

3.     Enter the Activity Name and Activity Description.

4.     Select Yes or No from the Exclude Task drop-down.

Select Yes if you want to exclude a task from the batch of tasks from sequentially running as specified.

Based on the AFCS widget, the Dynamic Parameters are displayed.

To view the definition of the AFCS Component you are using, mouse over its icon and click Click the View icon to open the Definition window of the OFSAA component. View. The Definition Window of the AFCS Component is displayed.

Dynamic Parameters for Widgets

The Dynamic Parameters in the Activity window are different for each Widget. This section provides information for the following Dynamic Parameters specific to the selected Widget.

RUN DQ RULE

In the Process Flow Window, click the RUN DQ RULE Icon in Widget from the Toolbar. Drag and drop it onto the Canvas. Double-click the Widget to display the Activity Window.

Dynamic Parameters for RUN DQ RULE Description

Property

Description

Datastore Name

Refers to the name of the Information Domain.

By default, the Information Domain to which you are connected is selected.

DQ Group Name

Select the required DQ Group.

Rejection Threshold

Enter the maximum errors in absolute value that a Data File can have and the Data Load will be marked successful. This is part of the specifying properties for load to table option

Once the erroneous record count exceeds the Rejection Threshold value, the data loading task will fail and the inserted values will be rolled back for that table.

Inserts for the previous tables won't be reverted.

Rejection Threshold will be applied to each of the target table individually in a batch.

By default, the value is set as UNLIMITED.

If you set Rejection Threshold as UNLIMITED or blank, the whole Data file will be loaded irrespective of the number of errors.

Additional Parameters

Enter any additional parameters for the Run DQ Rule filtering criteria for execution in the pattern:

Key#Data type#Value; Key#Data type#Value; and so on.

NOTE: In case the Additional Parameters are not specified, the default value is taken as NULL. Except the standard place holders $MISDATE and $RUNSKEY, all additional parameters for DQ execution should be mentioned in single quotes.

For example, STG_EMPLOYEE.EMP_CODE = '$EMPCODE'.

Fail if Threshold Breaches

Enter Yes to mark execution of the task to fail if the threshold value is breached. Enter No to continue execution of the task if the threshold value is breached.

Rule Exec Connection

Enter Connection Details for the Rule Execution such as the IP address and port.

Result Store Connection

Enter Connection Details for the server where the result will be stored such as the IP address and port.

Batch on Fail

Enter the Micro Service ID

SCD (Slowly Changing Dimensions)

In the Process Flow Window, click the SCD Icon in Widget from the Toolbar. Drag and drop it onto the Canvas. Double-click the Widget to display the Activity Window.

Property

Description

Datastore Name

Refers to the name of the Information Domain.

By default, the Information Domain to which you are connected is selected.

Name

Select the required dimension table name.

Dimension Retire

Select the dimension that you want to overwrite.

Execution Venue

Enter name of the Execution Venue. This field is case-sensitive and does not allow duplication.

For example, logical name “R_DF” is not allowed if a name “R_DF” exists.

Ensure that there are no special characters such as `, {,},”, ‘, ~, <,>, /, \, and multiple spaces.

Effective Date

Enter the start date from when the data is valid.

HIERARCHYRESAVE

In the Process Flow Window, click the HIERARCHYRESAVE Icon in Widget from the Toolbar. Drag and drop it onto the Canvas. Double-click the Widget to display the Activity Window.

Enter the table name in which the hierarchy data is stored.

Hierarchy Codes

Specify the hierarchy codes separated by tilde “~” or caret “^” to resave only those hierarchies. Specify the hierarchy codes separated by exclamation mark “!” to exclude those hierarchies from resaving.

Enter the Load Type:

·        S - Complete/Full Snapshot

·        I - Incremental Snapshot

Connectors

In the Process Flow Window, click the Connectors Icon in Widget from the Toolbar. Drag and drop it onto the Canvas. Double-click the Widget to display the Activity Window.

Connector Name

Select the required Dimension Columns from the drop-down. The selected dimension column loads the data as mapped in the staging tables of the ledger into AFCS.

Enter the required variables.

DataService

Exchange Rates Rule

Enter the exchange rates rule to apply to the transaction or set of data.

The rule computes the rate to convert the value from one currency to another.
