Designing a Business Process Log (Standard or Picker)
Because the steps are similar, use the following procedures to design either a standard or a picker log.
Important information about a business process log in Standard View
For the user to be able to filter for a particular field or fields, you (the designer) must add the fields to the standard log design manually, and then re-deploy the log business process; otherwise, the user will not be able to filter a record per added fields in a business process log, in Standard View.
To design a BP log:
- Go to the Company Workspace tab, and switch to Admin mode.
- In the left Navigator, select uDesigner, and then select Business Processes.
- Open the business process for which you want to design the log.
- In the left Navigator, select Log, and then select Standard or Picker.
- Choose one of the following:
- To create a Standard log, from the toolbar, select New. The system displays the Log Page Design window.
- To create a Picker log, from the toolbar, select New, and then select BP Picker Log or SOV Line Picker Log. If the BP that you selected does not support SOV Line Picker Log, the system automatically displays the Log Page Design window. That is, you cannot select SOV Line Picker Log.
- In the Log Page Design window, choose one of the following:
- For a Standard or BP Picker Log, complete the tabs as described in the following sections.
- For an SOV Line Picker Log, skip to Layout Tab. This is the only tab available for this log. For more information, see Auto-populate on Payment Application from a Base Commits BP and Additional Information About the SOV Line Picker Log.
